Whatever became of the kids you went to high school with? And while you were with them in high school, what were they really thinking, feeling, and doing? What stories were they not telling to even their best friends?
This is a documentary about the high school class of 1969 from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Interviewed on the occasion of their 50th anniversary class reunion, they tell stories about themselves, their friends, dating, parents, and teachers. As in time travel, we are at the same time in their present at age 68, and at just 18 years old, recalling laughter and tears from high school that are still part of them today. This may be the ultimate baby-boomer documentary.
Their stories are, by turns, funny, sad, surprising, and moving. Ultimately, these are stories about resilience of the human spirit in the face of challenges on the journey from childhood to adulthood.
Everyone who has been through high school will find some part of themselves in these stories: victory and defeat, love and loss, and growth.
